Chicken thigh curry

If I told you that one of the best places in Cambridge for a curry was a pub and restaurant centering around meat, bread and beer then you’d probably think I was mad. But let me tell you, the Pint Shop’s chicken curry is up there. I was delighted to make this discovery when trying out their Autumn menu, devised by their new development chef, Rosie Sykes. (more…)

Espresso Library Cafe Launch, Cambridge

Espresso Library

I was lucky enough to attend the launch of cafe Espresso Library, on Saturday evening. It’s a place for fans of great food, great coffee and cycling. The owners Malgo and John have done a fantastic job of transforming the space into a bright and welcoming cafe perfect for a quick coffee or long leisurely lunch.

They’ll be using The Coffee Officina beans, a company based in Essex, in their custom made Slayer Espresso machine. We had a taste of an espresso and it was delicious – fresh, acidic and extremely smooth, I’ve not had coffee like it before.

The menu has been devised in collaboration with extremely talented local chef Stella Pereira. Her food is absolutely delicious so I am looking forward to going back and trying the menu.

Espresso Library is on East Road, and is open from 7am to 7pm with 10% off everything in the first week.

Sunday Lunch at the Pint Shop, Cambridge

Roast Chicken - Pint Shop CambridgeWe’ve been fans of the Pint Shop in Cambridge since it opened a year ago, and have become well acquainted with their excellent drinks menu, their yummy scotch eggs and the hearty dinners. Their Sunday Lunch was something I’d not tried before so when they invited us along it seemed like the perfect time to try it out.
