Baked Cod with Wild Garlic

Last week, for my birthday, we visited The Sportsman in Seasalter, near Whitstable, Kent. I’d been about 5 years ago, just after they gained their Michelin Star, so I was very keen to visit again to see if it was just as good as I remembered.

I ate smoked mackerel pate with soda bread and mackerel veloute, baked cod with wild garlic and a dark chocolate salted caramel tart with the crispest pastry I’ve ever had. We were also really impressed with the vegetarian options, Mr’s starter was a delicious cauliflower soup (with cheese macarons) and main was a baked red cabbage with freshly made soft cheese and mustard sauce.

It was all excellent, the fish was so fresh, the service friendly and unobtrusive and the atmosphere was lovely. We can’t wait to visit again!
