I’m struggling with the weather at the moment, it’s very cold. We’re counting down the days until we can move into our new (warmer) house and out of this very charming but freezing 17th century cottage that we’ve shivered in for the last 4 winters. It’s been lovely, don’t get me wrong, but I’m looking forward to insulation and working radiators. Until then, this hot toddy is helping me get through the January weather.
It’s very simple to put together, only a little more fuss to make than a cup of tea, you’ll be warm and cosy in no time.
- serves 1
- 25ml amaretto, or a generous slosh
- 1 tsp of brown sugar (or white will do)
- juice of half an orange
- boiling water
- to serve: slice of orange, cinnamon stick
- Put all the ingredients into a large glass, and garnish with the orange and cinnamon, as the drink cools the cinnamon will infuse into the toddy.
